2/47th Inf. Operation Rockcrusher- Subdued Mug

This mug commemorates Operation Rockcrusher, the 1970 incursion into Cambodia, by the Panthers of the 2/47th Infantry (Mechanized). The self-styled "Bastards" (because they had been shuffled from their parent 9th Inf Div. to operational control of the 1st Air Cav Div, and later the 2nd Inf. Div.) were the first of 33 U.S. manoeuvre battalions to cross into the Parrot's Beak region of Cambodia on May Day, 1970.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
