Inspired artist Thori Norris Brewer had felt the call to paint a portrait of Jesus for a long time. She had no idea, the inspiration would come, to comfort her, just as she needed it the most. Her heart was breaking, again. One of her oldest and dearest, friends, her, journey on this earth, was coming to and end. Thori was hearsick and sad, beyond words. Thori had no idea what she was painting when she started this canvas. She painted for comfort. She painted and prayed. She gave her sadness to God and after two nights of painting, Jesus was smiling back at her. There are many life like paintings of Jesus. In this portrait it is as if Jesus has taken on the colours of the artist emotion. Love, pain, sadness, loss and has reflected it back with understanding eyes and a loving smile. It is as if he is saying - I am smiling because I love you and we will get through this together.
