This division, known as The Old Breed Blue Diamond and distinguished by the recognizable Blue Diamond shoulder insignia, has merited a place in history. The 1st Marine Division, with its slogan of "No better friend, no worse enemy," is a classic example of fierce battle combat and allegiance to allies. This design honours their valiant participation in that crucial World War II combat by including the fabled blue diamond patch with the red numeral one and Guadalcanal prominently engraved. This mug was exactly as described. I have purchased the stainless steel one before and the white is a nice change (stainless steel inside). I found the lavender purple a little light for my liking but that's my fault. Next time I'll choose a more grapey purple.
