The 1896 United States Five Dollar Silver Certificate. One of the three silver certificates issued from the ' Educational Series '. The allegorical motif of the design being ' Electricity as the dominant force in the world '. Without question one of the most handsome engravings the US Mint ever produced - simply magnificent. A wide range of Silver Certificates were issued from 1878 through 1964 and the owner of such a note could redeem the item for silver bullion or silver coins. I am glad that they came so quickly. The design was /is AMAZING! I love them ... folks were grabbing theirs immediately before the day because they believe they will go quickly. I love both sizes but the square one was unique and I misjudged the size on the round ones but still happy with how they turned out. AMAZING! The design was great. The printing was good.
