11th Airborne Division "Arctic Angels" Grunge Coffee Mug

The 11th Airborne Division Tribute design honours the valiant "Arctic Angels" of the United States military. This airborne unit was formed in 1943 and became well-known in the Philippines during WWII. The Arctic Angels were famous on the battlefield for their daring jumps and fierce fighting. Following their victories, they joined Japan's occupation forces, demonstrating their bravery and fortitude. In 2022, the US Military Alaska Headquarters will be renamed the 11th Airborne Division. The 1st and 4th Brigade Combat Teams were redesignated as the 11th Airborne Division's 1st and 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, respectively. This design pays tribute to both the 11th Airborne Division's legacy and the brave men and women who served there.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
