Activated in 1943, this airborne force rose to prominence in the Philippines during WWII. The Arctic Angels stood out on the battlefield, with thrilling jumps and fierce combat. Following their victories, they joined the occupation force in Japan, representing strength and resilience.
In 2022, the US Military Alaska headquarters will become the 11th Airborne Division. The 1st and 4th Brigade Combat Teams were redesignated as the 11th Airborne Division's 1st and 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, respectively.
