A common variety of snail along the Maine coastline, so thickly populating the crevices between and surfaces of intertidal rocks that one cannot walk among them without risking harm to many. They come in a wide array of colours, usually dark, but occasional orange such as this one and sometimes, especially when young and small, bright yellow.
