Ho 229 Attack! Print by Sabre
The Horten Ho 229 flying wing was an advanced Luftwaffe jet fighter that was in advanced development at the end of the war. The Horten brothers developed many flying wing gliders and powered aircraft before and during WWII. Although the Ho 229 never saw service during the war, it was clearly very advanced and would have proved a formidable weapon. A single example of the Ho 229 exists today in storage at the National Air and Space Museum. Is remains preserved in original condition. This image was created by Jamie Iverson and features a high level of detail and accuracy. A variety of digital tools were utilized to create this image including Rhino, 3D StudioMax and Photoshop. It is part of a continuing series of work featuring late-war Luftwaffe aircraft. Please visit www.stormbirds.com to learn more.
