This mixed media painting was made using coloured pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolor paints and salt. The painting features a creature that is part snail and part hippo. I has a hippo's head and a snail's body. The snail shell is green with yellow polka dots and the head and body is light blue with dark blue stripes. The hippo-snail creature is happily stopping to smell a flower. The flower has a long green stem and petals that start out red at the base and blend to yellow at the tips. The ground is a light brown or tan in colour and is a sandy texture. The sky is a bright blue with the sunrise in the centre behind the hippo-snail. The sunrise creates a rainbow of colours in the sky with yellow, orange, pink and red. There are three birds in the distance of the picture in the top left hand corner.
