Getting My Kicks Route 66 Stickers by Rebecca_Reeder
Have fun and own a piece of American history at the same time with these Route 66 stickers made from my photograph of a genuine sign on Route 66, the road tht is approximately 2,400 miles long and sometimes referred to as "The Mother Road. " It once was THE major automobile artery of America. It extended from The Los Angeles area through Winslow, Arizona; Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico; Amarillo, Texas; and on to Chicago, Illinois. Some of these cities enjoyed a resurgence in popularity when they were mentioned in songs: "Take It Easy" a 1970's hit by the rock and roll band The Eagles, a song which had the lyrics of "Standing on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona..." while country music star George Strait sang about working the rodeo circuit in "Amarillo by Morning."

The slogan in the middle of this sticker is an adaptation of the famous slogan "Get your kicks on Route 66." Since there isn't too much happening on parts of Route 66 any more, this design says "on and OFF Route 66." Accompanying the slogan is a map of the U.S.A. showing the actual route and marking both Winslow and Amarillo, as well as the starting and stopping points. Oh yes, there's also an arrow near Los Angeles pointing out towards the Hawaiian Islands with HNL (the airport code for Honolulu, the capital city of all the islands that make up the state of Hawaii.) If you do not like yellow, you can customize this sticker with a colour you prefer. The yellow shows through the map and the Highway marker because I checked the box in the customize options for the whites in the design to be transparent. You can un-do that option as well. I chose yellow to symbolize the warning light at traffic intersections as you zoom on to another fun adventure in life.
