French Flirt 4 - Risqué Postcard Art Key Chain
French Flirt 4 - Risqué Postcard Art Glamourous French Models Revealing Photographs French Flirt Risqué Posters

French Flirt Vintage Postcards on Posters ~ Vintage French Postcards of glamourous flirting ladies in risqué and revealing poses. Suggestive and erotic nude photography of sexy girls and women first appeared in about 1835 with the invention of daguerreotype photography. However, because of the extreme cost of early photographs only the upper class enjoyed erotic and suggestive style photographs. The French are widely accepted as the pioneers of suggestive and erotic photography, producing risqué and nude postcards which became the subject of an investigation in the 1860s after they were found in the possession of US troops. The majority of the French nude postcards were called postcards because of the size. They were never meant to be sent in the mail as it was illegal at that time. Rather, nudes and erotic photos were sold in a monthly "catalogue" magazine called the "La Beaute" which targeted artists looking for poses. Each magazine issue contained 75 nude images which could be mail ordered in the form of postcards which were hand-coloured / hand-tinted or sepia toned. Street dealers, tobacco shops and a variety of other stores bought the photographs for resale to American and European tourists as pin ups, erotica and naughty souvenirs. Edited from Wikipedia - History of Erotic Photography.
