"Flight of the Bumblebee" was written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan.

This very unique piece of artwork is a pleasing and different direction in my art explorations. The bee, constructed as it is, is more of an abstract hint of a bee or a concept of a bee rather than an actual drawing of one. The body, thorax, head, feet and wings are all mere suggestions, yet together they positively say "Bee".

The rather exotic flower in the lower left lends a nice balance to the composition, and fulfills the bee with it's 'purpose'.
