"Rose Bouquet in Glass Vase" watercolor painting by Paul de Longpre created in France in the late 1800's. A specialist in floral still lifes, especially informal arrangements, Paul de Longpre was born in Lyons, Paris into a poor aristocratic family that were "fleuristes", persons associated with flower painting, whose centre was in Lyons. His father, Jean Antoine, and brother, Raoul, decorated fans and exhibited floral still lifes in Paris and Lyons.

Later, Paul moved to the United States where he settled in Hollywood. He had a large garden where he painted perfect specimens of flowers. He was very well known.
