Embroidery designs are created at a particular size, so when you convert your design you must convert it at a particular size. If you convert the same design at 3″ x 3″, at 2″ x 2″, and at 1″ x 1″ that would be three conversions and three fees. The process of conversion translates the pixels in your JPEG, PNG, or GIF file into an embroidery format file containing the colour and stitching information required to guide an automated embroidery machine. Our trained embroidery professionals do this transformation for you. You may, if you prefer, take your image to an embroidery specialist to have them convert it for you instead, and upload the resulting OFM or DST format file. Some ways to keep your conversion fee down include: * use the smallest size possible * crop the design in your image as closely as possible * use simple, thick lines and block colours The cost of conversion is $5 for each 1000 stitches required to create your design in thread, rounded up to the next 1000. In other words, $5 for 1-1000 stitches, $10 for 1001-2000 stitches, and so on. When you upload your design, our software will provide a good estimate of the number of stitches required and the conversion cost for your design at the specified size.
