In Paris at the end of the 20th Century there was an ecumenical prayer movement called “Embrase Nos Coeurs”, (Ignite Our Hearts). “On fire” with adoration this worshipper’s passionate praise is burning bright before the Lord. Like the upward motion of a warm flame dancing in the wind of the Spirit he raises his whole body to literally offer up a sacrifice of praise with body, mind and spirit. Fire is symbolic of the purifying power of the Holy Spirit’s action in those who allow Him to let themselves be refined like gold. The orange and gold tones in this watercolor were used to represent an ardent flame. Il existe, à Paris, un mouvement de prière oecuménique appelé "Embrase nos Coeurs". La louange de cet adorateur "enflammé" monte vers Dieu tel un feu clair. Comme une flamme qui danse dans le vent de l'Esprit, il se dresse vers le ciel pour offrir, littéralement, un sacrifice de louange avec le corps,l'âme et l'esprit. Le feu symbolise le pouvoir qu'a le Saint Esprit de purifier comme l'or ceux qui acceptent de se livrer à lui. Les teintes or et orangé de cette aquarelle représentent une flamme ardente.
