Cowgirls At The Round-up 1911 by CowgirlCafeOnline
Rare rodeo panoramic print featuring participants in the second annual 1911 Pendleton Round-Up in Oregon. Cowgirls, cowboys and Indians and their horses give us a glimpse of the enormous popularity of this wild and woolly conflagration of athletes and outlaws, circuit-riders and local folks. Charles W. Furlong, in his 1921 book about the Round-Up titled Let ‘er Buck, coined the phrase “Epic Drama of the West” to describe the colourful riders and their four days of wild and daring contests.
