Our "Cool Cats" image was created by Louis Wain. Louis Wain was a prolific cat artist. He illustrated about one hundred children's books, and his work appeared in papers, journals, and magazines. He served as both as chairman and later as President of the National Cat Club. In 1917 his mental health declined and he was hospitalized for schizophrenia in 1924. His work began to take on jagged edges. Throughout his illness he continued to paint. This artwork is one of the many pieces he produced at that time.
