Although it is a small part of our bodies, the cochlea serves a very important function! Located in the inner ear, the cochlea and its components are responsible for our ability to hear. Its core component is the Organ of Corti, which is located along the partition which separates the two fluid filled chambers (scala vestibule and scala tympani) in the snail shell-shaped tube of the cochlea. This suite of paintings offers the viewer a sweeping tour of four unique perspectives of the cochlea.
