Lying among the sand dunes on the ilha de Tavira in the Algarve, Portugal is the Cemitério das Âncoras (Cemetery Of Anchors). Tavira once thrived on the Tuna fishing industry but when the fish stocks declined and fishermen gave up their occupation, these anchors were placed in rememberence of the former Tuna fishing industry of Tavira.
