They were in the process of setting up a carnival in Dam Square when I walked through, so I took a photo. It seemed like a strange combination of garish carnival against regal architecture. LOL! If I'm remembering correctly, the carnival was for Queen's Day, in honour of the Queen's birthday. They celebrate it several months after her actual birthday because the real date is in the middle of Winter when it's too cold there to get outside much.
